The Elsflether TB is the largest sports club in the city of Elsfleth with almost 1,200 members . It was founded in 1862. In the club can Fistball , tennis , volleyball , badminton , handball , karate , netball and table tennis are operated. In addition, the club courses are in the areas of fitness , health sports , swimming , athletics and children's sports. The club is known nationwide for its handball, fistball and table tennis departments. In cooperation with the Jade University , the association offers university sports for the study location Elsfleth.
Handball
The first men's team played in the fifth-class Nordsee Association League in the 2018/2019 season after being relegated from the North Sea handball league the previous year . The team is now back in the top league. In the 2008/2009 season, the club's A-Juniors rose to the top regional league . Then she was able to achieve fourth class for the first time in 2013 through several ascents in a row. The Oberliga Reserve plays in the national class north. The first women's team will play in the fifth-class Landesliga Bremen in the 2019/2020 season after being relegated from the North Sea Oberliga in the 2017/2018 season.
