The TuS Bothfeld 04 ( Turn- und Sportverein Bothfeld from 1904 eV ) is an association in Hanover in the district of Bothfeld .

The association was founded in 1904 and has approx. 2100 members. It is one of the largest sports clubs in Hanover and a member of the Hanover City Sports Association.

TuS Bothfeld 04 offers popular sports in 13 different departments. In the earliest childhood there is the possibility to start with the sport in TuS, because z. B. Children's gymnastics and a ball school are offered. Seniors can use the health sports ( yoga , walking and lung sports) and also gymnastics (deep work, seated gymnastics, etc.) departments in the association . The TuS Bothfeld also offer competitive sports. In the track and field field, Tom Unverricht was German youth champion in the 400 m hurdles (U18m). The basketball players are also a successful division in the league. The U14 rose to the national league in the 2017/18 season. In addition, in handball, the male B-youth plays in the major league and the first men's team plays in the regional league.

TuS Bothfeld 04 was awarded gold in 2018 by the Landessportbund Niedersachsen eV as a “commitment-friendly sports club”. It is characterized by a systematic and strategic honorary and volunteer management in which the committed and their needs are the focus.

TuS Bothfeld is a recognized volunteer service center in sport. In 2018, three FSJ'ers are involved in the association.

The handball department organizes one of the largest handball tournaments in northern Germany. Over 1,000 players of all ages compete against each other on up to 16 playing fields on the sports field in Hanover-Bothfeld. In 2018 the tournament took place for the 47th time. TuS Bothfeld also organizes the Bothfeld Forest Run. The runs start and end on the sports field. From the sports field it goes into the Bothfeld forest, where you run on a circular course on forest trails and developed forest trails.

The Bothfelder Waldlauf is a public run approved by the DLV . The Bothfelder Waldlauf celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017.

Board

The board of directors (§26 BGB) of the TuS Bothfeld consists of Frank Rückert, 1st chairman, Martin Möller, 2nd chairman, and Steffen Staude, treasurer. Stefan Henssen is still on the board as

Writer, Wolfgang Krause as press attendant, Thomas Riebe as sports attendant and Henriette Poggenklas as youth attendant. What is special is that the youth department has full voting rights on the board.

history

The club from Bothfeld was founded on July 5, 1904 as a men's gymnastics club. In 1919 there was a merger of several clubs to form the "United Gymnastics Association of 1919". Joining the German Gymnastics Association succeeded 20 years after the sports club was founded. A year later, TuS Bothfeld received its own sports field called "Reinecke Busch", now known as "Rohdenhof". In 1927 three other sports opened their branches at TuS Bothfeld. Handball, table tennis and athletics. In 1940 the TuS Bothfeld had to join the Reichsbund for physical exercises and took up the OSV. 3 years later the club archive was bombed out. In 1949 the fistball division was opened. 1952 the separation of the soccer department as OSV took place. In 1955 the athletics spate was re-established. In 1967 the association had over 1000 members for the first time. In 1969 the swimming division was opened. 1970 saw the first groundbreaking at the Bothfeld district sports facility. In 1973 there was a partnership agreement with the " Grün-Weiß tennis club " and the " OSV Hannover ".

Construction of the club house began in 1974 and construction was completed after two years. In 1976 the volleyball division was opened. In 1981 TuS Bothfeld had 2000 members and 7 divisions on offer. In 1989 the badminton division was opened. In 1990 the “Athletics Community Hanover” (LGH) was founded with seven other clubs. This was later dissolved again.

The dance division opened in 1991. This was followed by basketball in 1993, boules in 1999 and judo in 2002. Since 1999 there have been 13 divisions at TuS Bothfeld. The divisions were later renamed into departments. 2004 was the 100th anniversary of the association, which was celebrated with a festival week from June 18 to 27, 2004.
