Elvira Rodriguez Puerto

Elvira Rodriguez Puerto (* 1964 in Havana ) is a Cuban author , photography, film and performance artist who lives in Munich.

life and work

Elvira Rodriguez Puerto graduated from the University of Havana with a law degree in 1987 . She received her artistic training through a series of workshops in Cuba and Germany. In 2002 she founded the hip-hop magazine MOVIEMENTO in Cuba . In the same year she took on the main responsibility for the open art project En Mi Habana Calle , which was shown in Havana in 2003 and in Cologne in 2004. She has also worked as a film producer and director since 2002. She has lived in Germany since 2003, where she took part in the first Talent Campus of the Berlinale that same year . From 2009 to 2015 she curated the International Cuban Film Festival FICCU in Munich.
