Aumüller Druck was originally founded in 1888 as Deininger publishing house , which published the Bayerische Volksbote . The Bayerische Volksbote was renamed in 1908 in Regensburger Latest News (RNN), also a newspaper with Handelsblatt.

After the resignation of the publishing director and editor-in-chief Carl Schmitt in June 1913, Georg Aumüller (1869–1934), who had previously worked at the publishing house as editor for “Bayern”, “gerichtssal ”and“ Lokales ”, and his from his marriage to the publisher's daughter Frieda Schober - her father Johann Schober published the Regensburger Allgemeine Zeitung - her son Josef Aumüller (1888–1937), who had been responsible for the advertising section since 1912, was the first and second generation of the newspaper publisher, which from then on was G [eor] g Aumüller & Sohn Buch- and art print shop with Zeitungsverlag OHG was called and continued to publish the Regensburg Latest News . In 1928, the newly built industrial building of the book printing plant in Regensburg was put into operation and the anniversary edition of the newspaper appeared on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the paper. In 1932 the company was renamed Georg Aumüller & Sohn GmbH . The last edition of the "Latest" appeared in 1933. After the seizure of power , the newspaper published in the house was discontinued.

After the death of Georg and Josef Aumüller, the company shares were passed on to the third generation of heirs, Betty and Georg Aumüller († 2012). The company headquarters was Am Römling 12 until 1945 .

Re-establishment and development after 1945

After the Second World War , Georg Aumüller received a license from the US military government to continue the book and art print shop Gg. Aumüller & Son . In 1954 the company was converted into a limited partnership . The first offset printing machines were acquired in 1965 . In 1972 the foundation stone was laid for the 3,000 m² area in the Haslbach industrial area in Regensburg. Since 1981, all employees have been able to participate in the company as real silent partners . In 1994, Aumüller Druck put Bavaria's first 8-color press into operation and the office wing was expanded a year later. In 1996 Georg Aumüller retired. For his services he was awarded the university medal "Bene merenti" by the University of Regensburg .

Since 1996, the fourth generation of the company has been run by the brothers Stefan and Christian Aumüller, who joined the management team in 1987. In the same year, the world's first 10-color press from Heideldruck went into operation. Computer to plate was introduced in 2000 . One year later, the production area was expanded to a total of 4,700 m². In 2003, Stefan Aumüller was elected Chief Executive Officer of Fogra . After the company concentrated on production in Regensburg again in 2004 after the Munich production facility was closed, the warehouse there was expanded in 2005. One year later, the company was converted into the legal form GmbH & Co. KG. In 2008 the 3,000 m² neighboring property was acquired for a production hall and in 2011 an additional multifunctional hall with 3,000 m² was built.

From 1990 to 2012, the company's sales increased more than sevenfold despite the economic crisis . During this period, the production area was increased from approximately 4,700 m² to 11,500 m². In 2012, Creditreform Regensburg certified that the company had an exceptionally good credit rating with the “CrefoZert” certificate and thus that Aumüller Druck is one of the best 1.7 percent of German companies. In 2013 Hoppenstedt awarded the company the “Top Rating 1”.

Branch in Munich

In addition to its headquarters in the Haslbach industrial park in Regensburg, Aumüller Druck also had a branch in Munich, which was closed in 2004. In the Bavarian capital there is currently still a sales office at Peißenbergstrasse 5.

Cooperations

A cooperation with Heideldruck has existed since the end of the 1990s . Aumüller Druck and the printing company Peschke Druck ( G. Peschke Druckerei GmbH ), founded in Grünwald in 1963 as Nägele & Peschke Siebdruck , based in the new Parsdorf building with an area of ​​over 8,000 m² near Munich since 2014, have been operating as the so-called + PrintAllianz Peschke + Aumüller , since 2014 . whereby Aumüller acquired a minority stake in Peschke. The alliance has a combined total of more than 70 printing units . In addition to Thomas Kirschner, Peschke Druck, which specializes in screen printing or digital printing , is also managed by Stefan Aumüller and, in July 2017, had 95 employees in a three-shift operation. In 2013 it was still 120. Due to the reduced demand for conventional print production, Aumüller Druck has been cooperating with the online printing company flyeralarm since 2008 .
