Emanuel Bettencourt

Emanuel Bettencourt (born December 21, 1961 in Cape Verde ) is a martial artist of Cape Verde descent. He is a multiple kung fu world champion and also works as a fight choreographer, actor and stuntman .

Life

Emanuel Bettencourt was born in 1961 on the Cape Verde Islands and spent the first years of his life there. He came to Germany at the age of 14 and has lived in Hamburg ever since.

From 1978 he trained martial arts , especially the combined fistfighting style Wun Hop Kuen Do. Malia Dacascos and Al Dacascos were among his early teachers .

In 1982 he received the 1st Dan , the second Dan followed in 1986. Since 1995 he has been running his own sports center in Hamburg-Altona .

Since the early 1990s, Bettencourt has been working as a stuntman and combat choreographer for numerous film and TV productions such as Fatih Akın's films Short and Painless or Against the Wall .
