Emanuel Jenner (born March 20, 1657 in Bern ; † July 12, 1741 there ) was a Swiss goldsmith and mint master.

Life

Emanuel Jenner was born in Bern in 1657 as the son of Hans Rudolf Jenner, bailiff of Landshut . He was a brother of the master craftsman Samuel Jenner . In 1681 he became a parlor journeyman in his father's society at Middle Lions . Nothing has been known about his career so far. The bowl of his uncle, the Venner Samuel Jenner, is documented as his earliest work . In 1690 he created the leopard, King Wilhelm III, on behalf of the English resident Thomas Coxe . from England donated to the Outer Estate . Jenner became municipal mint master in 1694. The guild society for monkeys commissioned him in 1698 with the production of the so-called Barettliaffen, co-founder was his brother Samuel Jenner. Other surviving works are the communion goblets of the Zimmerwald church (around 1685 and 1698), the amazon cup (1701), the Bacchus with cornucopia (1702), the Sinner Leopard (1708), the Villmergen goblet (1712) and the beer mug with the Arms alliance of Werdt – von Wattenwyl. Jenner remained a mint master until 1725.

His maker's mark consists of the letters EI as well as the star and crescent moon (family coat of arms).
