Emil Demmler

Emil Demmler (from 1902: Emil von Demmler , born August 18, 1843 in Schäftersheim , † June 16, 1922 in Stuttgart ) was a German Protestant clergyman.

life and work

He studied at the University of Tübingen and at the Evangelical Abbey there . During his studies he became a member of the Roigel Royal Society of Tübingen . In 1869 he became parish administrator at the Laurentiuskirche in Hemmingen and was pastor there from 1870 to 1877. Then he was city and garrison pastor in Heilbronn until 1892 . From 1892 to 1901 he was dean of the Esslingen church district . From 1901 to 1911 he was general superintendent and prelate in Ulm . As such, as a representative of the Protestant regional church, he was also a privileged member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg estates from 1901 to 1906 .

His son was the art historian Theodor Demmler (1879–1944).
