Emil Manz
Emil Manz (born August 9, 1880 in Regensburg , † January 1945 in Wolfratshausen ) was a German sculptor . In his work he mainly devoted himself to depicting animals. In addition, he appeared as a poet of humoresques in the Bavarian dialect .
Manz first studied sculpture with Wilhelm von Rümann and Erwin Kurz at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts . After a stay in the United States , he was a student of Hermann Hahn for six years . He created a tiger sculpture for the zoological garden in Düsseldorf . His most important work he left behind in Munich , where he created several wells in the 1930s, now under monument protection standing.
