Emil Pommer

Emil Pommer (born October 1, 1856 in Halle , † June 26, 1933 in Braunschweig ) was a German economist and agricultural scientist .

Life

Pommer studied agriculture and economics at the University of Halle (Saale) and in 1884 with the thesis contributions to the history of agriculture in the district Merseburg Dr. phil. PhD. From 1885 he was director of an agricultural school in Quedlinburg . In 1893 he came to Braunschweig and in 1895 he became general secretary of the Agricultural Central Association of the Duchy of Braunschweig . In 1899 he was appointed economics councilor , in 1907 regional economics councilor. In 1924 he retired.

From 1894 to 1900 has Pommer that of Richard Buerstenbinder reasoned presentations organ annual report on the experience and progress in the Gesammtgebiete of agriculture. Edited for use by practical farmers and edited a total of seven volumes. From 1895 to 1922 he gave lectures at the Technical University of Braunschweig on “Cultivation and care of sugar beets ”.
