Live and act

Richard Buerstenbinder was the son of Alexander Friedrich Buerstenbinder (1813– ??) and Friederike Louise Kroll . On May 24, 1840 he was baptized in Berlin-Dorotheenstadt . He received his doctorate as Dr. phil., was the Duke of Brunswick Economic Council and long-time Secretary General of the “Agricultural Central Association” of the Duchy of Brunswick.

From 1882 he taught as a lecturer in agriculture at the Technical University of Braunschweig . As part of a special course for sugar technicians, he gave lectures on the cultivation and care of sugar beet and the cultivation of the most important indigenous factory plants. From him comes the saying: "The production of sugar is primarily dependent on the beet seeds used, happens in the field and the sugar factory actually only forms the building for removing the non-sugar."

He wrote several agricultural books. In 1886 he founded a practical unit under the title "Annual report on the experiences and progress in the entire field of agriculture", of which he edited and edited eight volumes together with Karl Stammer (1828-1893).
