Emil Preissinger

Emil Preissinger (born August 22, 1912 in Bayreuth ; † October 27, 2003 ) was a German master butcher and politician.

After attending school, Preissinger began an apprenticeship in his parents' butcher's shop, where he passed his master craftsman examination in 1935. In 1942 he became a partner in this business, which he took over completely in 1966. During the Second World War he belonged to a tank division. After the war he was chief master of the butchers 'guild in Bayreuth and was a member of the board of the butchers' association in Bavaria. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Upper Franconian Foundation . In 1966 he was appointed Vice President and in 1979 President of the Chamber of Crafts for Upper Franconia , after resigning from this office he became Honorary President in 1992. He was also the federal chairman of the craftsmen's movement in men's work for the Evangelical Church in Germany and was a member of the regional seniors' council. From April 1, 1966 to April 30, 1990, Preissinger was politically active in the Bayreuth City Council as a member of the CSU. From 1984 to 1993 he represented the crafts group in the Bavarian Senate .
