Emil Schipper
Emil Reinhard Zacharias Schipper (born August 19, 1882 in Vienna ; † July 20, 1957 there ) was an Austrian opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
After completing his law degree, Emil Schipper trained his voice in Milan . He made his debut in 1904 at the Prague Deutsches Theater with Telramund , and in 1911 at the Stadttheater Linz. From 1912 to 1915 he sang at the Volksoper. After a season at the Vienna Court Opera in 1915, he sang at the Munich Court and State Opera from 1916 to 1921 . From 1921 to 1938 he was a member of the Vienna State Opera. In particular, he sang all relevant Wagner roles. He also appeared at the Salzburg Festival from 1930 and made guest tours in Europe, North and South America.
He was married to the singer Maria Olszewska . The marriage ended in divorce.
