from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emilie Böck (born June 17, 1932 in Zweibrücken , † December 18, 2002 in Ingolstadt ) was a German author and folklore researcher.

Life

Emilie Böck came to Ingolstadt with her parents in 1938 . In 1952 she made her Abitur at the Gnadenthal-Oberrealschule and took up German studies in Munich from 1953 to 1959. In 1961 folklore collecting activities began and the largest private archive of legends in the Bavarian region was set up.

“Anyone who thinks only of gods and heroes or classical antiquity when they hear the topic of ' sagas ' has certainly never had a legends book by Emmi Böck in hand. Her folkloric collections of sagas contain traditional stories, especially those of the common people - often in their own language, ”says Bayerischer Rundfunk , describing the work of the Ingolstadt author.

In 1980 she received a research assignment from the Bavarian State Foundation : three volumes of Upper Palatinate sagas (1982 Regensburg city sagas , 1986 sagas from the Upper Palatinate. From literature , 1987 Sitzweil. Upper Palatinate sagas from the vernacular ).

On September 1, 1981, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her services in the field of saga research . In 1987 she received the Bavarian Order of Merit for her significant contribution to the maintenance of customs and culture in Bavaria .

In 1988 and 1989 she got further research assignments: legends from the Neuburg-Schrobenhauser area and for legends Middle Franconia . In 2000 she received a culture award from the city of Ingolstadt.

On the occasion of her 70th birthday and a few months before her death, the Ingolstadt Donaukurier reported about her: “But there is another side to Emmi Böck. For many years she was repeatedly involved in politics. In 1967 she took an active part in building an ' extra-parliamentary opposition ' in Ingolstadt, and later organized Easter marches and citizens' initiatives . In 1981 she supported the Krefeld appeal and the peace movement and demonstrated against the Wackersdorf reprocessing plant . ”Her estate is kept in the Regensburg State Library .

Emilie Böck herself saw her life and work like this: "Basically, only the interpersonal relationship and the work itself count."
