Emilie Boer (born September 23, 1894 in Bochum , † April 5, 1980 in Berlin ) was a German classical philologist and astronomy historian.

Emilie Boer studied at the University of Heidelberg with Franz Boll and Fritz Schoell . Her doctorate took place in 1921, then she worked in the library service and as a private scholar until 1954. In the GDR, Boer worked for the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin. There she dealt with ancient Greek literature and philosophy. She translated Epicurus' letter to Pythocles and edited the writings of Heliodorus , Paulus Alexandrinus and Claudius Ptolemy . As early as 1940 she completed Franz Boll's edition of Claudius Ptolemy's Apotelesmatika . Boer also wrote articles for Little Pauly and the Lexicon of Antiquity . In addition, she dealt with the history of astronomy and astrology of antiquity . Towards the end of her life she shared an apartment with Helmut Boese , whom she sometimes almost drove to despair because of her chaotic lifestyle. Your estate is kept in the main state archive of Saxony.

Her sister was the Dresden city ​​archivist Elisabeth Boer (1896–1991).
