Emily Rosemond (born March 11, 1986 in Cairns , Queensland ) is an Australian cycling trainer , former track cyclist and short track runner.

Athletic career

At the age of 16 Emily Rosemond started for the first time internationally as a short tracker for Australia. In the 2005/06 season she completed the Short Track World Cup and qualified for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , but could not occupy any top places there. Then she turned to track cycling.

In 2008 Rosemond was together with Kerrie Meares Australian champion in the team sprint , in the Keirin she was second, in the sprint third. The following year, 2009, she won the national team sprint title with Meares; She was runner-up in the Keirin and third in the 500 m time trial .

Internationally, she was able to take second place in the team sprint at the 2008 World Cup race in Melbourne with Kerrie Meares; In the 2009/10 Track Cycling World Cup season she finished second in the Keirin in the race in Cali and two third places in the team sprint together with Anna Meares .

Honors

Following her participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics, Emily Rosemond was awarded the Keys to the City of Brisbane .

Private

In 2015, Emily Rosemond and Kerrie Meares married. The two run the Track Cycling Academy in Brisbane together .
