Emir Ahmatović (born January 16, 1987 in Tutin , Yugoslavia ) is a German professional boxer of Yugoslav origin.

Amateur career

Emir Ahmatović was born in Tutin, Serbia, and his mother is from Montenegro . He grew up in the central Hessian city of Wetzlar , where he trained in the Lahn Wetzlar boxing team.

Emir Ahmatović boxed for the teams SV Motor Babelsberg and BC Straubing in the 1st Bundesliga, fought for the German Eagles team in the World Series of Boxing , participated in the semi-professional tournament mode AIBA Pro Boxing and was also accepted into the German national team. He became German heavyweight runner-up in 2012 and won the chemistry cup in 2013 by beating Anton Pinchuk and Fabio Turchi .

His greatest achievement was winning a bronze heavyweight medal at the 2013 European Championships in Minsk . After victories against Raitis Sinkēvičs and Sandro Dirnfeld, he had reached the semifinals, where he was eliminated against Alexei Yegorow . He was thus also qualified for the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , where he defeated Marko Radonjić in the preliminary round and lost to Tommy McCarthy in the second round .

Professional career

He made his professional debut on March 11, 2017 at Sauerland Event and switched to Petko's LMS boxing promotion in Munich in December 2018 after an injury-related break from fighting of 15 months .
