Emma Fredh

Emma Fredh (born April 14, 1990 in Borås ) is a Swedish rower who was vice world champion in 2016 and European champion in 2017.

The 1.66 m tall Emma Fredh competes in lightweight rowing. At the 2008 World Championships , she competed with the junior double scull and finished seventh after rowing to thirteenth place in the junior double scull in 2007 . In 2009 and 2010 she took fourth place in the lightweight double scull at the U23 World Championships , and in 2011 she was fourth in the lightweight single . At the 2011 World Championships in the adult class, she finished thirteenth in the lightweight single. In 2012 she finished sixth in the Olympic qualification for the lightweight double scull and could not qualify for the Olympic Games in London. At the U23 World Championships she won silver in the lightweight single in 2012. At the world championships in the non-Olympic boat classes, she took seventh place with the Swedish lightweight quadruple scull.

In 2013 Emma Fredh took fifth place with Cecilia Lilja in the lightweight double scull at the European Championships . At the world championships , the two achieved ninth place. In 2014 they finished fourth at the European Championships , and at the World Championships , as in the previous year, the two rowed to ninth place. In 2015 Emma Fredh competed at the European Championships in the lightweight single and won silver, 0.2 seconds behind the British Imogen Walsh . At the 2015 World Championships , Fredh and Lilja tried their hand at the Olympic qualification for 2016, which did not succeed with twelfth place. At the qualifying regatta in Lucerne in 2016, the two finished fourth, only the first two boats made it into the Olympic starting field. At the 2016 World Championships , Emma Fredh competed in the lightweight single and won silver behind Zoe McBride from New Zealand .

In 2017 Emma Fredh won the title at the European Championships ahead of Denise Walsh from Ireland . At the world championships at the end of September, she reached fifth place. She also finished fifth at the 2018 European Championships .
