Olawunmi Emmanuel Arowolo (born August 7, 1997 in Ifo ) is a Nigerian sprinter .

Athletic career

Emmanuel Arowolo gained his first experience in international championships at the U20 World Championships in 2016 in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where he was eliminated in the semifinals over 200 meters with 21.16 seconds, as well as with the Nigerian 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2018 he took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he reached the semi-finals over 200 meters and was disqualified in the final with the Nigerian 4 x 100 meter relay. He then made it to the semi-finals at the African Championships in Asaba over 200 meters, where he was eliminated with 21.13 seconds. In addition, he won the silver medal behind the team from South Africa with the relay in 38.74 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , he was disqualified with both the 4-by-100 and the 4-by-200-meter relay. He then took part in the Africa Games in Rabat and retired there with 21.01 s in the semifinals and secured the silver medal behind Ghana with the relay in 38.59 s. Over 200 meters he also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 21.07 s in the lead .

In 2017 Arowolo became Nigerian champion in the 200-meter run.
