Emmanuel Challita

Emmanuel Hanna Challita (born November 12, 1956 in Fishkabour-Zakho , Iraq ) is a Chaldean Catholic clergyman and bishop of Saint Peter the Apostle of San Diego .

Life

Emmanuel Challita received on 31 May in 1984 by Pope John Paul II. The Sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 15, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Mar Addai of Toronto. He was ordained bishop by the Patriarch of Babylon , Louis Raphaël I Sako , on February 6 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Saint Thomas the Apostle of Detroit , Frank Kalabat , and Shlemon Warduni , Curia Bishop in the Patriarchate of Babylon.

He was named bishop of San Diego on August 9, 2017 and inducted into the office on August 29 of that year.
