Emmy Lüthje (born August 23, 1895 in Lübeck ; † February 5, 1967 ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

Emmy Lüthje attended the secondary school for girls in Bergedorf . After attending a private chemistry school in 1913/14, she worked as a pharmaceutical assistant. From 1926 to 1933 she was the second chairwoman of the Housewives' Association in Kiel . In 1949 she participated in the re-establishment of the German Housewives Association , of which she was chairman from 1949 to 1952. She was also a member of the board of directors of the regional dairy industry association. After Lüthje was ousted as DHB president by Fini Pfannes in 1952 , she founded a housewives' union as a counter-association, of which she became the national chairman.

Emmy Lüthje, who was of Evangelical Lutheran faith, was married and had two children.

Political party

Lüthje became a member of the CDU in 1946 and soon became chairwoman of the CDU regional women's committee. From October 16, 1947 to March 19, 1948, the military government banned her from all political work. The reason was expressions of opinion by Emmy Lüthje, which the military government had displeased. In connection with the dismantling of the British, she said that “England does not love this word made in Germany ” and that the German borders from 1937 must be restored so that the refugees can return to their homeland. After five months, the occupying power lifted the ban, which was originally limited to six months.

MPs

From October 2nd, 1946 ( second appointed state parliament ) to 1958, Emmy Lüthje was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein . She represented the constituency of Kiel-Mitte in parliament, from 1947 to 1958 as secretary. In 1946/47 she was chairman of the state parliament committee for health care.

The Landtag sent them to the first and second federal assemblies , which elected Theodor Heuss as Federal President on September 12, 1949 and July 17, 1954, respectively .

Honors

On September 29, 1958, Emmy Lüthje was awarded the First Class Cross of Merit of the Federal Cross of Merit .
