Engelhardia hainanensis is atree species from the walnut family(Juglandaceae) that occursonly in China .

Engelhardia hainanensis is a tree up to 30 m high. The leaves are pinnate in pairs and 15 to 23 cm long. The petiole is 4.8 to 7 cm long, hairy or balding, the rachis is hairy. The 6 to 10 leaflets sit on 2 to 3 mm long stems, are oblong-oval to oblong-elliptical, 5 to 10.5 cm long and 2.5 to 4 cm wide. The underside is very hairy along the midrib, and there are scattered hairs in the nerve axils. The leaf margin is sawn.
The nuts are obovate, 8 to 10 mm long and 5 to 7 mm wide. The middle wing is 5 to 6 cm long, the sides 2.5 to 2.8 cm. The fruit ripens in December and January .
distribution
Engelhardia hainanensis is endemic to the island of Hainan and only occurs here in the southwest in the Dongfang area. The tree grows in valley forests.
