Charlotte Engmann

Charlotte Engmann (born September 16, 1971 in Neuss ) is a German writer . She writes novels and short stories in the genres of fantasy and horror .

Life

In 1973 her family moved with her from Neuss to Erftstadt - Liblar , where she first attended the Donatus elementary school and then the Ville-Gymnasium Erftstadt. After graduating from high school, she studied German, English and history for a few semesters at the University of Cologne . She then completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk. She lives in Cologne.

Even as a child she read a lot, especially the classic fairy tales and heroic sagas , but also Astrid Lindgren 's children's books . Other important influences were The Neverending Story of Michael Ende and the cartoon The Lord of the Rings , which awakened her love for fantasy.

She wrote her first full short story in the winter of 1992/1993. Her first short stories appeared in the Legendensänger edition by Christel Scheja . From 1994 to 2001 she published a fanzine herself , the vampire magazine Tales of Blood and Love , which reached a total of eleven issues.

Since 2000 she has published over thirty short stories in anthologies, ten individual titles (novels, collections of stories) and seven short novels in the Bastei series Schattenreich pulp magazine .
