Enrique Ladron de Guevara
Enrique Ladrón de Guevara Castañeda (born January 17, 1927 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ; † February 27, 2014 there ) was a Mexican show jumper and football official .
Ladrón de Guevara set a Mexican record for power jumping in 1948 when he overcame an obstacle height of 2.10 meters with his horse Nancy . In 1959 and 1960 he got the opportunity to take part in the major North American East Coast tournaments in Harrisburg, New York, Washington and Toronto ( The Royal Horse Show ). With the Mexican team he won the Nations Cup in New York's Madison Square Garden in 1960 . Due to his success in Mexican equestrian sport, Ladrón de Guevara was accepted into the Salón de la Fama of the state of Jalisco in 2001.
From 1967 to 1973 he was president of Club Deportivo Guadalajara , whose soccer team won the double for the first time in the club's history during his tenure , when they won their eighth league title and the second cup in 1970 .
