history

Village green of Baiershofen, left behind the parish church St. Leonhard

Baiershofen emerged as a clearing settlement in the first half of the 14th century . It is a characteristic settlement of the Central Swabian type. It was probably made by the Fultenbach monastery , which reorganized the fiefdoms in the village in 1350 .

description

The ensemble includes the entire Anger area with its buildings. On both sides of the approximately 650 meter long, west-east facing Angers, there are about 25 rural properties. The stable houses stand at the gable to the green. These are all saddle roof buildings , which were originally one storey and have been expanded to two storeys since the late 19th century.

With its lawns and fruit and nut trees, the grassy strip has retained its historical character. In addition, small house gardens are assigned to the farmland towards the individual properties . On the side facing the field corridor, larger gardens are connected in rectangular strips.

The parish church of St. Leonhard , a baroque building consecrated in 1730 over older parts, is surrounded by the cemetery. The church stands in the middle of the Angers and dominates the ensemble.

The rectory sets a special accent with its hipped roof . The two inns at Dorfanger 70 and Kirchlesweg 2 are exceptionally large.

At its ends, the ensemble is completed by the small, ground-floor farmhouses Dorfanger 77 and Dorfanger 22. The two houses were built in front of older properties due to lack of space.

The houses adjoining to the east (village green 4 to 20) and westwards were only built at the end of the 19th century and do not belong to the ensemble.
