The Eparchy Idukki ( Latin Eparchia Idukkensis ; Malayalam ഇടുക്കി രൂപത Iṭukki Rūpata ) is an eparchy of the Syro-Malabar Church with its seat in Idukki in India, united with the Roman Catholic Church . It includes part of Idukki District .

history

Pope John Paul II established it with the Apostolic Constitution Maturescens Catholica on January 15, 2003 from cession of territory from the diocese of Kothamangalam and made it subordinate to the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly as a suffragan diocese . The first local ordinary was Mathew Anikuzhikattil , who was succeeded by John Nellikunnel in January 2018 .
