The Eparchy Keren ( Latin Eparchia Kerensis ) located in Eritrea is a diocese of the Eritrean Catholic Church , which is united with the Roman Catholic Church .
history
Taken from the Asmara eparchy of the Ethiopian Catholic Church on December 21, 1995 , it counted 49,889 (5.4%) believers in 26 parishes with 25 diocesan priests , 17 religious priests and 53 religious sisters in 1999 . By 2002 it had grown to 51,321 (11.3%) believers in 27 parishes with 20 diocesan priests, 12 religious priests and 45 religious sisters.
With the establishment of the Eritrean Catholic Church on January 19, 2015, the eparchy was subordinate to the Archeparch Asmara as a suffragan.
