Epfenhausen is a district of the municipality of Penzing in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .
The parish village is in the open, about three kilometers northwest of Penzing. It is only separated from neighboring Untermühlhausen by the Munich-Lindau railway line . It is crossed by the Lost Brook , a tributary of the Danube .
The first written mention of the place dates back to 1065. The formerly independent municipality with the district of Ziegelstadel was incorporated into Penzing in the course of the municipal reform in 1974.
