Epizana is a town in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Epizana is the second largest town in the Municipio Totora in the province of Carrasco . The village is located at an altitude of 2870 m on the banks of the Río Chimba , which drains in a westerly direction to the Río Mizque .

Epizana is located in one of the high valleys of the Cordillera Oriental mountain range , which merges eastward into the Bolivian lowlands. The climate of the region is characterized by a typical daytime climate in which the temperature differences between day and night are more pronounced than between the seasons.
The annual average temperature is 14 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate between 11 ° C in June / July and 16 ° C in November / December (see Totora climate diagram). The annual precipitation is 600 mm and falls mainly in the summer months from December to February with monthly values of 100 to 125 mm; This contrasts with a dry season from May to October with monthly precipitation of less than 30 mm.

Epizana is located at a distance of 129 kilometers by road southeast of Cochabamba , the capital of the department of the same name.
From Cochabamba the paved road Ruta 7 leads via Tolata to Epizana and on via Pojo , Comarapa and La Angostura to the lowland metropolis of Santa Cruz . In Epizana a dirt road branches off to the south and leads via Totora to Aiquile .
