Equanimeous "EQ" Tristan Imhotep J. St. Brown (born September 30, 1996 in Anaheim , California ) is a German - American American football player on the position of the wide receiver . He played at the University of Notre Dame until 2018 and was drafted as the 207th pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2018 NFL Draft .

Early years

college

In 2015 he moved to Notre Dame University . In his freshman season he played as a reserve wide receiver and in the special team. He only made a single pass catch for 8 yards. He suffered a shoulder injury during training that ended his season. In 2016 he started his sophomore season as a wide receiver in all 12 games of Notre Dame. As the best receiver he got 961 yards with 58 pass catches and 9 touchdowns. In the season he also made a somersault touchdown, with which he got national attention for the first time. In 2017 he continued to play for Notre Dame as a junior . As the best wide receiver at Notre Dame, he got 515 yards and 4 touchdowns in 13 games of the season and 33 pass catches. The reason for this drop in performance that the quarterback of the season in 2016, DeShone Kizer , the NFL Draft in 2017 in the second round by the Cleveland Browns was drafted. With the new and correspondingly inexperienced quarterback Brandon Wimbush , the system was geared more towards running play.

On January 5, 2018, St. Brown announced via Twitter that he was signing up for the NFL Draft , although he could have played a year longer as a senior at Notre Dame University.

NFL

Draft

St. Brown was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 207th pick in Round 6 in the 2018 NFL Draft . At the same time, there was a new encounter with DeShone Kizer, who was quarterback at Notre Dame in 2016 and thus played together with St. Brown. Many experts had predicted before the draft that he would be selected in round 2 or 3, so his actual selection in round 6 was disappointing.

2018

In the four preseason games of the Packers, EQ St. Brown reached 83 yards with 6 pass catches, but did not make a touchdown. He survived the player cut and was in the final squad of the Green Bay Packers for the 2018 season.

St. Brown made his NFL debut on October 7, 2018 in the loss to the Detroit Lions , catching 3 balls for 89 yards. Overall, he scored 328 yards in the season, but no touchdown.
