Erasmus Stockmann
Erasmus Stockmann (born May 21, 1544 in Hamburg ; † February 26, 1608 in Rostock ) was a German professor of physics and metaphysics.
Erasmus Stockmann studied at the University of Rostock from April 1562 . He lived in the house of the professor of medicine Gerhard Nennius († 1566), whose daughter Elisabeth he married in 1579.
In the winter semester of 1569/70 Stockmann was accepted as a master's degree and ten years later professor as the successor to Christoph Gertner († 1578). During the winter semester of 1587/88 Stockmann was rector of Rostock University.
His son Joachim Stockmann (1592–1653) became professor of medicine.
