Joachim Stockmann
Joachim Stockmann (born February 21, 1592 in Rostock , † June 6, 1653 ibid) was a German doctor and university professor.
Life
Joachim Stockmann was a son of the Rostock professor Erasmus Stockmann (1544-1608) and his wife Elisabeth, daughter of the physician Gerhard Nennius. He studied in Rostock , Leipzig and Marburg . In Rostock he was awarded a master's degree in 1615 and a doctorate in medicine in 1619. In 1622 he was appointed professor of physics and in 1640 (councilor) professor of medicine and Rostock city physician . Stockmann was elected rector of the university five times.
family
Joachim Stockmann was married to Mette Krandonck († 1627) and had a daughter with her, who later married Professor Joachim Schnobel . In 1632 Stockmann married the daughter Anna (1608–1669) of Professor Paul Tarnow . Their only son was the later physician Paul Joachim Stockmann , who married Anna Margaretha, a daughter of the theologian August Varenius , in 1666 .
