Erbisreute is a hamlet above Weingarten in Baden-Württemberg . It belongs to the municipality of Schlier in the Ravensburg district .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1278 as Herwigesrute. 1319 are called "Lords of Erbisreute", who probably belonged to the family of the Lords of Ankenreute. In 1350 the Weingarten Monastery acquired the estate from the Waldburg family . In the 15th century Erbisreute was named as Herwissrutin in the interest and shark books of the Weingarten monastery . The hamlet was under the jurisdiction of the Landvogtei Swabia until 1806 with the exception of a farm that was owned by the Prince of Waldburg-Wolfegg and was also subject to his jurisdiction.

In August and September 2006, 13 people, including six children, lived for the documentary film Stone Age - The Experiment in a pile dwelling village built for this purpose in the part of the Altdorf Forest in the Erbisreute-Fuchsenloch recreation area. The project was intended to provide insights into life in the Neolithic Age . The stilt houses were moved to the Unteruhldingen Stilt House Museum in 2007 .

Religions

The Catholic population belonged to the parish of Weingarten until 1822, and since then to the parish of St. Martin in Schlier. Evangelical residents belong to the Evangelical Church Community of Weingarten.

societies

The "Erbisreuter Dorfnarren" were founded in 1976 and registered as an association in 1999. They organize a village carnival in the sense of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival with the fool figures "Riabaweible" (turnip woman) and "Runkelrübe".
