from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pea is a catering business that has existed in Kiel since 1978 and was relocated to a new location in Kiel in 2020.

history

The premises in the Mitte district have been used as a restaurant since the 1920s . The pea was opened in 1978 by Dieter Seemann. The original furnishings were retained and “Ollen Kotten” took over. From 1986, business partners Frank Launert and Rainhard Reckling leased the pea from Dieter Seemann. After the business partners separated in 1995, Launert was the sole operator until 2009. During this time, the annual street festival was initiated in favor of a social institution and the beer garden was set up. Since 2009, Hatto Reimer has been the operator for three years. In July 2015, actor and fire artist Asterx took over the management.

In 2017, the pea took part in the show Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal and took third place. Films were also shot here and music videos for, among others, Antje Schomaker , the band Diebesgut and Big Harry .

On August 19, 2019, the pea in Kiel was closed and moved to Eckerförde.

On February 1, 2020, the pea in Gurlittstrasse 4 in Kiel-Projensdorf continued to move under the management of Asterx, because the house in Eckerförde was sold and the new owners want to run the pub there themselves. In addition to their own T-shirts and patches, the record company TSM has even produced a "pea" song with the title "Off to Kiel to Asterx in the pea"

Artist pub

The pea was and is part of the Kiel art scene. She became known, among other things, because the comic artist Rötger "Brösel" Feldmann , creator of the Werner comics, lived in the apartment above the restaurant and paid his rent in the form of murals that adorned the guest rooms. The pea logo also comes from his pen. Among the guests were BAP front man Wolfgang Niedecken . Klaus Büchner , the musician 'Norman Keil ", actor " Big "Harry Schmidt , singer Wolfgang Hildebrand (The Voice), singer and musician Ingo Pohlmann, Prime Minister Günther Daniel, pop singer" Nina la Vida, Heide Simonis , Egon Müller and the musicians of the Band enemies of the ears . Cultural events such as readings and concerts were and are regularly held in the pea.
