Antje Schomaker (* 1992 in Rheurdt ) is a German musician and songwriter in German-speaking indie pop .

Life

As a child, Schomaker learned to play the piano and bassoon, among other things , and attended the Krefeld Waldorf School . The guitar she taught himself. Later she began to write her own song lyrics. As part of her acting work at the Krefeld Kresch Theater, she performed a song sung a cappella , which attracted the attention of the music producer Swen Meyer . She then moved to Hamburg in 2012, after a year abroad in Ireland , where she still lives today. In addition to working on her own music, she studied systematic musicology there and worked for a music publisher.

After an internship with the Munich producers Kilian Reischl and Robin Karow , she began to work with them on their first album. In May 2016, Schomaker uploaded the song My Heart Needs a Break on the video platform YouTube . Through this video she became aware of the musician Bosse , whom she names as one of her musical role models. The two met at the Feel Festival 2016. As a result, she supported his tour with her band in 2016 as a support act. A year later she also accompanied Johannes Oerding , the band Gloria and, in 2018, Amy MacDonald as opening act on their tours. In 2017 Schomaker performed at the Hurricane Festival and the Deichbrand .

Her first album Von Helden und Halunken was released in 2018. After the tour that was part of the album, the song Liebe auf Fern was released in cooperation with Revolverheld . Another album is announced for 2019.

Podcast

Schomaker has been publishing its own podcast called Antjes Freundebuch since August 22, 2018 . This appears every two weeks with changing guests, with whom she fills out a friend's book and has conversations. Guests of the podcast included Bosse , Lea and Joris .
