Ercsi (German Ertsching ) is a town in the small area of Ercsi within Fejér County in Hungary . Ercsi is the administrative seat of the small area of the same name.
location
Ercsi is located south of the urban area of Budapest on the west bank of the Danube . The M6 motorway to Budapest runs two kilometers to the west .
Cityscape
The Roman Catholic parish church of the Assumption was built by Júlia Szapáry in 1762–1767 in the late Baroque style. It has been a Marian pilgrimage site since 1855.
The Ercsi Monastery was a Cistercian abbey founded in the second half of the 13th century and closed in 1482 , of which no remains have survived.
