Erdmann Rudolf Fischer
Erdmann Rudolf Fischer, also: Erdmann Rudolph Fischer, (born November 28, 1687 in Hafenpreppach , † June 1, 1776 in Coburg ) was a German Lutheran theologian.
Life
The fisherman, who comes from a rectory, attended grammar school in Coburg with Ernst Salomon Cyprian (1673–1745). On April 29, 1708 he enrolled at the University of Wittenberg , where he was trained by Gottlieb Wernsdorf the Elder to become a theological representative of Lutheran orthodoxy . Due to his father's health problems, he went to Einberg as his substitute in 1717 , became fourth deacon in Coburg in 1721, rose to third deacon in 1724, second deacon in 1726 and became archdeacon and senior in 1741 .
In 1747 Fischer became the confessor of Duke Franz Josias of Saxe-Coburg , on whose protection he became general superintendent and consistorial councilor of Saxe-Coburg in 1758 . This was connected with the office of pastor at the Moritzkirche and he was high school professor of theology at the Coburg Casimirianum . In addition to a few sermons that appeared sporadically, Fischer was involved in the ongoing collection of old and new theological matters from 1724 onwards. He also reissued the Coburg hymn book in 1723, 1731 and 1739.
