Erdmann storm

Erdmann Karl Sturm (born July 2, 1937 in Meseritz ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Sturm's family fled to West Germany in 1945 after the Second World War. He graduated from high school in Lippstadt in 1957 . From 1957 he studied Latin philology, history and philosophy for two years and, parallel to this, until 1965, Protestant theology in Bonn, Heidelberg and Münster. He took the first theological exam in 1965. This was followed by the vicariate, the second theological exam and an auxiliary post in the Protestant parish of Havixbeck .

In 1969 he received his doctorate from the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Münster with a thesis on Zacharias Ursinus . He submitted his habilitation thesis to the University of Education in Münster in 1971 ; In 1972 he became a professor there. The ordination took place in 1979.

In the course of the merger of the Münster University of Education with the University of Münster, he became professor for Protestant theology and its didactics, with a focus on systematic theology and religious education . In 2002 he retired.

From 1990 to 1992 Sturm was the first chairman of the German Paul Tillich Society (DPTG). He has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Comenius Society (DCG) since 1993 .

His son Daniel Friedrich Sturm is a political scientist and journalist.
