Erhard Berneburg
Erhard Berneburg (born April 17, 1954 ) is a German Protestant pastor and a doctor of theology. Most recently, he was director of the Evangelical Office for Missionary Church Development and Diaconal Profile Building (midi) , General Secretary of the Missionary Services Working Group (AMD) and advisor for Missionary Services and Special Pastoral Care of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) and as a publicist.
Career
Berneburg studied in Göttingen, Heidelberg, Erlangen and Tübingen. After the vicariate in Hanover, from 1984 he worked for three years as a travel secretary for the student mission in Germany . He then worked as an assistant at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Tübingen for three years. He received his doctorate with the dissertation “The relationship between evangelism and social engagement in evangelical mission theory”, which deals critically with the radical agenda in the Lausanne movement . He then worked as a parish priest in Sulingen from 1990 for eight years , then from 1998 for nine years as head of studies at the Krelingen spiritual armament center . From April 2007 until his retirement in 2019, Berneburg was General Secretary of the Working Group on Missionary Services and the Higher Church Council for Missionary Services in the EKD Church Office.
Berneburg is on the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance and on the board of the Association for the Promotion of Research into Evangelism and Community Development. V. , Greifswald, whose purpose is to support the institute for research into evangelism and community development at the University of Greifswald. Berneburg is on the advisory board of the magazine “3E” and in his function as general secretary is responsible for the “AMD Congress for Theologians”. Between 2011 and 2017 he was co-chair of the Lausanne coalition for evangelism in Germany . In 2013 he was a participant in a leadership meeting of the Lausanne movement in Bangalore, India . Berneburg is the editor of the EKD project "Courses on Faith". From January 2019 to December 2019 he was the head of the newly established “midi” office for missionary church development and diaconal profile formation of the EKD, Diakonie and AMD.
He is married and has five children.

Berneburg defended Christmas in a shoe box , a member of AMD, as a diaconal symbol of love .
“Mission is not an event, but a basic attitude: We are not the end users of God's love. It should be passed on. "
Awards
In 2008 he was honored with the Golden Crown Cross of the Diakonie for his services to church and diakonia .
