Erhard Rohrbach

Erhard Rohrbach (* 1956 ) is a German politician . He was mayor of the city of Maintal from 1995 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2015 .

education and profession

Rohrbach grew up in Hochstadt . After being at the Otto Hahn School in Hanau his high school did, he studied at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main Law . After completing the 1st state examination , Rohrbach completed his legal traineeship at the Hanau District Court . This was followed by the 2nd state examination and the completion of the basic military service. In 1985 he finally was admitted as a lawyer . As a lawyer he mainly worked in labor law and worked as an employee for the employers' association in Darmstadt .

Rohrbach is divorced and has three children. He lives with his partner in Hochstadt.

Political career

In 1985 Rohrbach was elected to the city council. In 1987 he became chairman of the local CDU - faction and 1993 finally City Council Chairman.

In the first direct mayor election in January 1995, Rohrbach was elected mayor for the CDU. In January 2001 he no longer competed. After Dorothee Diehl was voted out , he ran again for the office of mayor and won a runoff election against the SPD candidate in September 2003 . On July 5, 2009, Rohrbach was elected for his third term in office. In the mayoral election in September 2015, he decided not to run again and left office on December 31, 2015. Monika Böttcher became the new mayor .
