Eric Kaiser (athlete)

Eric Kaiser (born March 7, 1971 in Yaoundé , Cameroon ) is a former German athlete .

Life

Born in Cameroon, Kaiser competed in athletics with TSV 1880 Wasserburg from 1983 . In his youth he was several times German champion in hurdles , long jump and all-around . In 1990 he won the gold medal in the decathlon at the Junior World Championships . Then he specialized in the 110-meter hurdles .

At the German Championships in 1993 Kaiser came third and qualified for the World Championships in Stuttgart , where he was eliminated in the interim. The following year he was a member of a - very rarely run - 4-by-110-meter hurdles relay that ran a German record. In 1995 he was runner-up at the German Championships and was nominated for the World Championships in Gothenburg , where he did not get beyond the preliminary run. Before that he had increased his personal best to 13.08 seconds, which was the second fastest time in the world this year. At the German Championships in 1996, Kaiser came in third and qualified for the Olympic Games in Atlanta .

In 1999 Kaiser was convicted of doping with Clenbuterol and banned for two years.

Kaiser started for TSV 1880 Wasserburg, LAC Quelle Fürth / Munich 1860 , MTG Mannheim , SC Riesa and LG Wedel-Pinneberg .

After his sports career, he worked as a trainer.
