Eric Kiptanui

Eric Kiptanui (born April 19, 1990 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

He started out as a middle-distance runner over 1500 m and came seventh over this distance at the 2016 African Athletics Championships in Durban.

In his first international competition on the road, he won the San Silvestre Vallecana in 2017 .

In 2018, Kiptanui won the Lisbon half marathon in 1:00:05 h. At the Berlin half marathon he set a course record of 58:42 minutes. At the time, this time was the fourth fastest time ever run in a half marathon and was only 19 seconds behind the world record of Zersenay Tadese .
