Eric James Palm (born May 26, 1987 in Rockford , Illinois ) is a retired American basketball player .

career

The from Machesney Park (State of Illinois ) native Palm played from 2005 to 2009 for the college team of McKendree University in the NAIA . In 2007/08 and 2008/09 he was chosen among the top ten players of the NAIA season. The proven distance thrower recorded the best points average of his university time in the game year 2008/09, when he scored 20.6 points per encounter. During his four years at McKendree University in the city of Lebanon , he scored a total of 2066 points and was fifth on the all-time basketball list when he left the university in 2009. In 2008 and 2009 he was named Player of the Year at the American Midwest Conference.

Palm then only played in the US IBL league and moved to the 2010/11 season for Icelandic second division team Thor Thorl in the city of Torlákshöfn . There he scored 23.2 points on average and helped the team to rise to the top division. Further positions followed in Iceland at Thor AK and IR Reykjavik. With both teams he also excelled as a sure point supplier.

In the 2013/14 season, Palm was on the field at the German second division club BV Chemnitz 99 and scored an average of 15.8 points. In the 2014/15 season he won the championship title in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with the Gießen 46ers . The American contributed an average of 10.2 points to this success in 38 games. With 70 hit "threesomes" he was Gießens best distance thrower during the championship year. Palm remained loyal to the traditional club after returning to the basketball league and was used in 23 games in the top German division during the 2015/16 season (8.1 points on average).

Stages in Slovakia , Kosovo and Denmark followed . With the Bakken Bears , Palm won the Danish championship in 2017. To win the title, he contributed an average of 8.3 points in 26 matches.

In November 2017, Palm was signed by the German second division USC Heidelberg . At the beginning of October 2019 he was signed by the German third division club Dresden Titans , where he played until the end of the 2019/20 season. He ended his career in summer 2020.
