Eric Stough

Eric "Butters" Stough (born July 31, 1972 in Evergreen, Colorado ) is an American animation director.

Life

Stough is animation - director of the television series South Park . For his work on the series, he won four Emmys (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009). In the film Orgazmo he made a brief appearance as a person to be arrested. According to his own statement, his work is inspired by The Jerry Springer Show . The South Park character Butters is based on him. In reality, however, Eric Stough is very different from Butters.

Stough and Trey Parker have known each other since elementary school. He later went to the University of Colorado at Boulder with Trey Parker and Matt Stone . He worked on the first works of Trey Parker and Matt Stone: he worked on the shooting of Cannibal! The Musical worked as an assistant director and starred in Orgazmo . He also participated in the handmade pilot episode Cartman and the South Park anal probe.

"Butters" was originally Eric Stough's nickname. In episode 308 - When Father With Father ... it was decided to take a character who previously had no set name and never said anything and call him Butters as a parody of Eric Stough.

Stough also spoke a few voices at South Park on occasion. You can also see Eric's hands in the opening sequence of some seasons.
