Erich Graßl

Erich Otto Graßl (born August 30, 1913 in Kaiserslautern , † December 17, 2008 in Munich ) was a German general practitioner and psychologist .

Career

Born in Kaiserslautern in 1913, Erich Otto Graßl studied psychology, education and philosophy after graduating from high school in Passau and received his doctorate in 1936. phil. After working as a practical psychologist, he studied medicine after his military service. Doctorate to Dr. med. 1945 at the University of Innsbruck . In 1947 he established himself as a general practitioner in Munich.

Since 1946, Erich Graßl has dealt with medical professional policy with the aim of improving the difficult situation of young doctors in the post-war years. He founded the 'Young Doctors Organization' in Munich and became the state chairman of the Young Doctors in Bavaria. Graßl was one of the founders of the Marburger Bund .

Erich Graßl's special concern was health education , health promotion and addiction care.

He wrote numerous health textbooks, was active in the Catholic Working Group for Public Health and was a member of the Federal Board of Trustees of the Children's Fund.
