Erich Haberfelner (born April 23, 1902 in Lamperdorf , † December 4, 1962 in Essen ) was an Austrian geologist .

Haberfelner, a grandson of Josef Haberfelner (1830–1913), studied mining science at the Montanistische Hochschule Leoben . In 1931 he was at the University of Graz Dr. phil. PhD. He was active in the fields of applied geology and reservoir science worldwide and acted as chief geologist at Fried. Krupp raw materials, food.

From 1936 to 1939 he worked at the Prussian Geological State Institute (PGLA) and then at the Federal Institute for Soil Research in Hanover.
