Erich Hagemeister

Erich Hagemeister (born November 5, 1878 in Stralsund ; † January 27, 1958 in Schwerin ) was a German writer , dramaturge and playwright .

Life

Erich Hagemeister studied German literature and philosophy in Berlin and Greifswald . He received his doctorate in 1905 from the University of Greifswald with a dissertation on " Friedrich Baron de la Motte Fouqué as a playwright".

He worked as a dramaturge at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin for 25 years . He wrote stage works, especially comedies, in High and Low German of which 18 were performed. In 1937 he was awarded the John Brinckman Prize .
