Erich Hasler

Erich Hasler (born December 28, 1956 in Eschen ) is a Liechtenstein patent attorney and politician . He has been a member of the Liechtenstein State Parliament since 2013 .

biography

Hasler is a citizen of the municipality of Eschen . He studied chemistry at the University of Basel . He then did his doctorate at the university's physical-chemical institute. He also studied economics at the University of Basel and received a licentiate ( lic. Rer. Pol. ).

After graduating, he worked for several years as an application engineer in the development department and later as a product manager at a Liechtenstein company for thin-film and vacuum technology. He then worked for a Liechtenstein trust company for two years. In 1990 Hasler was licensed as a Liechtenstein patent attorney. In 1996 he was admitted to the position of European patent representative. Today, Halser is a partner in the patent law firm Riederer Hasler & Partner Patentanwälte AG . Among other things, he is a member of the Association of Freelance Swiss Patent Attorneys registered with the European Patent Office and of the Liechtenstein Association of Patent Attorneys.

In February 2013 , Hasler was elected to the Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein for The Independent (DU). As a member of parliament, he was a member of the business audit commission from 2013 to 2016.

In August 2018, Hasler was excluded from the party and the parliamentary group after disagreements. As a result, Herbert Elkuch and Thomas Rehak also left the party. The independents thus shrank to two mandates in the state parliament and thus lost their parliamentary group status. Since the beginning of September 2018, the three MPs Hasler, Rehak and Elkuch have formed their own parliamentary group in the state parliament ( new parliamentary group ). Furthermore, the three founded the Democrats for Liechtenstein Party (DPL) on September 21, 2018 . Hasler was elected member of the party executive committee at the founding meeting.

Hasler is married and has two children.
