Erich Kohnhäuser

Erich Kohnhäuser (born May 11, 1945 in Eger ) is a German mechanical engineer , professor and former president of the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and state chairman of the Association of German Engineers Bavaria (VDI LV Bayern).

Life

Kohnhäuser graduated from the Goethe-Gymnasium in Regensburg in 1965 and then studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University in Munich until 1970 . He then worked there at the Chair and Institute for Funding as a research assistant, and in 1977 he received his doctorate in engineering with a thesis on the investigation of methods for the static calculation of crane lattice towers with the help of a spatial matrix deformation process, taking measurements into account .

From 1978 to 1983 he worked for what was then AEG Sachsenwerk GmbH in Burgweinting , where he headed the work planning and time management department from 1980 and, most recently, from 1982 the entire production planning of the plant.

At the same time, he was already working as a lecturer for work preparation at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and was appointed professor for construction and the position of vice dean in 1983, and from 1988 as dean in the mechanical engineering department. During this period he was a member of the board of directors of the Association of University Lecturers at Universities of Applied Sciences in Bavaria , where he was most recently deputy state chairman. From 1988 to 2006 he was a member of the college's senate and taught as a professor from 2006 to 2010. From 1990 Kohnhäuser was also President of the University of Applied Sciences and held this office until the legally permissible maximum four terms of office were reached in 2006. Among other things, he was a senate and plenary member of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) (1995–2005) and a member of the Standing Commission for International Affairs (1997–2005). He was a member of the board of directors of the Association for the Promotion of a German Research Network (DFN; 1996–1999), a member of the joint BDA and HRK working group “University / Business” (1997–2005), and is or was in many other organizations, institutions and Company active.

Kohnhäuser lives in Beratzhausen .
