Erich Kubierschky

Erich Kubierschky (born June 10, 1854 in Frankenstein , Silesia, † June 21, 1944 in Eching am Ammersee ) was a German painter.

Life

Erich Kubierschky studied art at the Berlin Art Academy from 1875 to 1879 under Paul Thumann , Otto Knille and Karl Gussow . From 1882 he was a member of the Ekensund artists' colony (repeated stays until 1892). From 1881 to 1884 he worked as a teacher at the Lettehaus and at the Porzellanmanufaktur Berlin , from 1884 on he taught at the Leipzig Art School as head of the plaster and antiquities class. In 1889 he moved to Munich , where in 1891 he married Hilde von Noorden, the daughter of the historian Carl von Noorden . From 1900 he regularly took part in the annual exhibitions in the Glaspalast , and in 1924 in the collective exhibition in the Munich Art Association . In 1931, 43 paintings were burned at an exhibition in the Glass Palace.

Kubierschky was on study trips to Luxembourg, Franconia, Denmark ( Ekensund artists' colony ), Corsica and Trieste.
