Erich Sechser (born November 25, 1925 in Munich ; † July 2, 2003 ) was a public prosecutor and CSU politician.

Life

The son of an active officer studied law, joined the Bavarian judicial service in 1957 at the Munich public prosecutor and made a career as a criminal judge , civil judge and senior public prosecutor.

In 1960 he moved from Munich to Zorneding , where he joined the local council as a CSU man (from 1966 or 1971 to 1996) and was elected second mayor from 1972 to 1990 (next to Mayor Rudolf Weinberger, free voters). He managed to consolidate the financial budget. From 1973 to 1985 he was the local chairman of the CSU Zorneding.

For his bold action against the Munich abortion "Aktion 218" in June 1971 he was praised by Prime Minister Alfons Goppel . During the first German bank robbery with hostage-taking on August 4, 1971 by Hans Georg Rammelmayr and Dimitri Todorov , Sechser seized the authority to direct, referring to the code of criminal procedure. He ordered “good hunters” of the police into a gravel pit and had them practice before they took a position at the scene as alleged “precision shooters” . As a result of the shooting order issued by him, the escape vehicle was riddled with 36-150 bullets and Rammelmayr and a 19-year-old hostage were executed. Thereafter, six criminal charges were filed against him. Police President Manfred Schreiber , with whom he had been arguing for two months in the specialist journal Kriminalistik about the delimitation of competencies between the police and the judiciary, tried to justify Sechser's shooting order “whenever he was asked”.
